What Article 4 actually asks
Since 2 February 2025, every company that uses AI takes measures to support the AI literacy of its staff and of others who use AI on its behalf. After the Digital Omnibus no specific level has to be guaranteed, and the European Commission's AI literacy Q&A (updated 27 July 2026) says no certificate is required: companies can keep an internal record of trainings and other measures. Courses that sell certificates sell something the law does not ask for. What you need is the training, delivered to the right people, and the record.

What the speaker notes look like
Core module, slide 9: The data rule
Free consumer tools may keep what you type and may use it to improve their models. Personal data in AI tools is also a GDPR question: GDPR applies in full alongside the AI Act. If you are unsure whether data is personal or confidential, treat it as if it were.
Core module, slide 13: The quick reply
Answer: personal data went into an unapproved tool. Better: use the approved tool for the draft and leave out or replace personal details, or write the reply without AI. If it already happened, report it: data protection may need to assess it. Nobody gets into trouble for reporting quickly.

Questions
Is this training enough for Article 4?
It is the core measure: training matched to the people and the AI they use, with a record. Combine it with written AI usage rules and an up-to-date register of your AI tools; both are in the AI Compliance Kit. It is operational guidance, not legal advice.
Do employees need a certificate?
No. The Commission's Q&A says no certificate is required. The pack gives you a register and an attendance confirmation that is labelled as not a certificate.
Can we change the slides?
Yes. They are ordinary PowerPoint files; add your logo, tools, examples and contacts. Slides marked ADAPT must be edited before the first session.
Is it up to date after the Digital Omnibus?
Yes. It uses the amended Article 4 wording, the Omnibus dates (Article 50 from 2 August 2026, high-risk HR duties from 2 December 2027) and the Commission's guidance on prohibited practices and on general-purpose AI models.
